Performance Dancing:
The performance program is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of dance in a fun environment. We offer performance classes in Ballet (ages 3 to adult), Jazz, Tap (ages 4 to adult), Hip Hop (ages 6 to adult), lyrical (ages 11 and up) The dancers are taught the dance element of their choice and then assemble a routine for the year-end recital. Parents are invited to see what the dancers have learned in early November during parents week.
Tiny Dancers : This is an excellent way to have your little dancer start out on the right foot. We offer tap, jazz or ballet programs for all our little dancers. Your child will learn movement to music, balance, co-ordination, and rhythm using basic dance steps. The tiny dancer is an excellent way to introduce your little one to the joy of expression through dance.
Ballet : This is an exciting way for dancers to experience the grace, co-ordination and confidence achieved through ballet. Classes will include RAD* method as well as work choreographed by the instructor.
Jazz : Is an energetic style of dancing. The class consists of a warm-up, centre floor excercise and stretching. With progression in the class the students will learn turning and jumping as well.
Tap : Tapping out rhythms with their feet and having fun. We offer both classical and more contemporary style tap. The girls will learn timing, balance, speed, co-ordination and strength.
Hip Hop : This energetic and upbeat class appeals to many young dancers. Our hip hop class is the studio form of dance seen in popular videos.
Musical Theatre: A combination of drama and dance, this class is fun and exciting offering the dancers a broadway experience.
Lyrical: Lyrial is a beautiful blend of ballet, modern and jazz dance. The students learn to create a story or express the mood or theme of music and its lyrics.
Adult classes : We offer to our mature dancers ; hip hop, tap, jazz and bellydancing . Our classes are a great way to exercise, learn something new and make new friends.
EXAM PROGRAM :
Dancers learn musicality, the association of muscle movement and discipline. Students are required to attend class twice weekly in this intensive training program. Through the RAD* exam and assessment program process dancers are rewarded for their hard work and achievement. Ballet exams are offred at the discretion of the instructor.
COMPETITION PROGRAM :The competition team is a more serious approach to dance. Students are required to attend a minimum of 8 hours of dance per week. Students study and compete in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Lyrical . The team travels to various competitions during the year through out Canada and the U.S.Aas well as perform locally. Students enjoy competing and being part of a team ,supporting and being supported by teammates,instructors, family and friends. Life experience gained through the competitive program will follow dancers as they move through school, post-secondary education and their chosen career. The competitve program is available to those students who, at the discretin of the director, are recognized to be ready. |
